Full description: The course focuses on designing an agricultural biogas plant. The broadly understood functioning and construction of an agricultural biogas plant is discussed. In particular, components of biogas plants, selection of the substrate base, energy efficiency of biogas plants, parameters for the process of fermentation, technical parameters of the planned biogas plant, etc. As part of the course, calculations are made for substrate base, daily amount of new batch, content of water process, mass of batch, load of anaerobic digester, anaerobic digester, another digesters / tanks, silos, mixers, pumps, engine, etc. Moreover the course contains factors determining the fermentation process and the economic efficiency of biogas plants, thhe choice of substrates ensuring good parameters process of anaerobic digestion, methods of technical solutions in biogas plant, management of digestate, etc.
Bibliography: Everything about renewable sources of energy especially biogas.
Learning outcomes: Knowledge: Student has an knowledge in selected areas of physics, chemistry and biology, necessary to describe the processes occurring in the renewable energy and waste management, including the knowledge necessary to understand the physical phenomena and processes during the energy production from renewable sources, including the products and precipitation origin plant and animal. Student has knowledge in the field of biofuels and processes, use of biomass, including waste biomass from agricultural and animal agricultural biogas. Student has detailed knowledge based on a strong theoretical foundation for the design and operation of systems and devices for acquisition and use of renewable energy sources.
